Holter ECG

Holter monitoring also known as ambulatory ECG is continuous ECG monitoring during the patient's normal daily activities, to detect attacks of tachy- or bradyarrhythmias. Holter monitoring is done for Syncopal and presyncopal attacks of unknown origin, troublesome symptoms suggesting paroxysmal arrhythmias: attacks of paroxysmal tachycardia with presyncope or fainting sensations, assessment of the efficacy on antiarrhythmic drug, investigation into problems with a pacemaker and deciding on the need of a pacemaker in, for example, sick sinus syndrome.
