Secondary prevention therapies, unless contraindicated, are an essential part of the management of all patients with STEMI regardless of sex. Some important components are patient education before discharge, life style management, drug therapy [Beta-Blockers, Anti hypertensive, Warfarin Therapy, Lipid Management, Antiplatelet therapy, hormone therapy in postmenopausal women. The healthcare provider should review and emphasize the principles of secondary prevention with the patient and family members.
