Hair Loss

Hair has three cycles. anagen (the growing phase), catagen (the intermediate phase) and telogen (the shedding phase). When this balance is disturbed and more hairs are shed than are grown, alopecia or hair loss results. The common forms of hair loss include androgenic alopecia (male-pattern baldness), traumatic alopecia, drug-induced alopecia and alopecia areata. Treatment options include grooming techniques, wigs and hairpieces, medications, (finasteride. minoxidil): and surgery- hair transplants.
