Secondary hypertension
Secondary hypertension should be suspected when the condition is associated with onset before the age of 30 years, rapid onset, rapidly increasing blood pressure at an older age, very high BP, poor response to therapy, no hereditary predisposition, abnormal laboratory results and clinical findings. The most common form of secondary hypertension is renovascular hypertension. The management differs according to the cause.
