Lichen Planus
Lichen planus (LP) is a pruritic, papular eruption characterized by its violaceous colour; polygonal shape; and sometimes, fine scales. It is most commonly found on the flexor surfaces of the upper extremities, on the genitalia, and on the mucous membranes. Treatment is with potent topical corticosteroid creams or ointments, systemic corticosteroids, acitretin, PUVA, intralesional steroids, carbon dioxide and Nd:YAG laser therapy and surgical excision of persistent ulcers.
