Diverticular Disease
Diverticula are small mucosal pockets in the wall of the colon that conceivably filled with stagnant fecal material or undigested food particles. Diverticulosis is the condition of having diverticula; Diverticulitis is inflammation of one or more diverticula. Diverticulitis can occur anywhere in the GI tract but is most commonly observed in the colon.
