Contraindications to use of oral contraceptives
With family planning advise a national priority, many a time the treating physicin does not take a detailed history before prescribing OCP. Following is a list of contraindications; some absolute and some relative that must be kept in mind while prescribing as patient is not likely to return for re-advise and if not indicated resultant morbidity may be high. Also the history of patient taking OCP (& which one) must be recorded on our case sheets for us to recall when giving certain drugs.
