Gynaecological prolapses

Descent of the uterus out of the vaginal introitus is called a prolapse. When the bottom of the abdominal cavity gives way through the pelvic floor these organs are pushed out of place, even out of the parturition canal. Strengthening the muscles of the pelvic floor (kegel's exercises), assisted by the guidance of a physiotherapist, and if necessary electro stimulation of the muscles and ultimately surgery is the answer to prolapses.
