General guidelines
Leukaemias, lymphomas (both Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's), myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes constitute malignancies of haematopoietic and lymphoid system. Diagnosis is established only thru tissue diagnosis and subsequently subtyping and staging is done for proper treatment. Treatment consists of a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy; stem cell transplantation may also be considered in some cases.
