Newer ultrafast CT scanners are capable of scanning the body within seconds. With fast scanning, it is now possible to virtually "freeze" heart motion and thus the ability to image the coronary arteries. The main indication of cardiac CT is to rule out coronary artery disease in bth symptomatic and asymptomatic patients.
