Liver Function Tests
Liver function tests represent a broad range of laboratory tests to evaluate normal functions performed by the liver and are used to determine damage and/ or impaired function. Liver function tests include tests for: bilirubin, levels of enzymes gamma (?)-glutamyl transferase (GGT); alanine aminotransferase (ALT or SGPT); aspartate aminotransferase (AST or SGOT); and alkaline phosphatase (ALP), prothrombin time (PT), total serum proteins and serum albumi and ammonia.
