Magnesium Deficiency
Causes of magnesium deficiency includes Use of large doses of diuretics; amiloride, triamterene and spironolactone spare magnesium, diarrhoea,, prolonged fluid therapy and parenteral nutrition, alcoholismand poorly-controlled diabetes with excessive diuresis. Low serum magnesium (S magnesium) usually signifies deficiency of total body magnesium. Normal S magnesium does not rule out deficiency
