Chemotherapy Classification
Anti-neoplastic drugs are classified according to their differing action. Since different chemical agents damage cancer cells in different ways and at different phases in the cell cycle, a combination of drugs is often employed to increase the effectiveness. The three most common ways to administer anti cancer drugs is intravenously, oral and infusion pump. Regardless of the method of administration, all are absorbed into the blood and circulated throughout the body. Each person reacts to chemotherapy in a different way. The side effects also depend on the dose and timing of the therapies.
