Thyroid Cancer
Most patients present with an asymptomatic nodule on the thyroid gland. Symptoms, when present, include hoarseness, neck pain and enlarged lymph nodes. Follicular carcinoma is considered more malignant than papillary carcinoma. Medullary cancer has a much lower cure rate than the "well differentiated" papillary and follicular types, but cure rates are higher than they are for anaplastic thyroid cancer.
