Corneal ulcers and erosions

Patients present with conjunctival erythema, pain and feeling of a foreign body. A marginal ulcer becomes visible with fluorescein staining in the lateral part of the cornea. The cornea is opaque in this area. Treatment is with antibiotic - corticosteroid drops can be used locally after assessment by an ophthalmologist.
