Iridocyclitis

Iridocyclitis refers to acute or chronic inflammation of the iris and ciliary body characterized by exudates into the anterior chamber, discolouration of the iris, and constricted, sluggish pupil. Symptoms include radiating pain, photophobia, lacrimation, and interference with vision. Suspect iridocyclitis in patients with a painful red eye or with local tenderness in the eye or photophobia. The treatment consists of local steroid therapy and long-acting cycloplegic medication.
