Knee Injuries
The types of knee injures are, Anterior and posterior cruciate ligament injury, Medial and lateral collateral ligament injuries Meniscus injuries of the knee and Tendon injuries and disorders of the knee. Plain x-rays should be taken in all but the mildest injuries Fresh clear instability, deformity, haemarthrosis and locked knee (mechanical loss of extension) are indications for further investigations on emergency basis. Otherwise there is no urgency to obtain specialist assessment, but the situation may be followed up.
