Asthma: Basics
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways with an associated hyper reactive airways that leads to recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness. The prevalence of asthma increasing, especially among younger age groups. Common symptoms of asthma include Dyspnoea, Wheezing and Prolonged cough. Detailed history, auscultation of the lungs and PEFR measurement are important diagnostic aids.
