Goals for treatment in asthma management include education of the patient and his family, optimum control of symptoms by optimizing therapy, ensuring normal life style, exercise tolerance and gainful occupation and minimizing effects and toxicity of drugs. Quick reliever medicines are inhaled ß2 agonists. Preventive medicines include inhaled corticosteroids ad leukotreine inhibitors.
