Compulsory duty of a Medical Practitioner
These relate to:
- Compulsory notification- births, deaths, infectious diseases, and food poisoning from a restaurant. In some states, industrial diseases are notifiable.
- Responsibilities to the state-
- responding to the emergency military service
- reporting cases of homicidal poisoning or suspected homicidal injuries, such as stab or gunshot wounds
- reporting certain cases coming under the category of privileged communication, especially, as regards, moral and social duties, and responsibility in criminal matters
- reporting unnatural deaths, and
- reporting suspected abuse of children, spouse, or elderly, in some countries.
