Guidelines for Adolescent Depression in Primary Care
Indian family care practitioners are not conversant with or adept at picking up depression in adolescents. Those family physicians who are inclined towards handling this will be helped by new Guidelines for Adolescent Depression in Primary Care issued by The American Academy of Pediatrics. This is done to assist them in diagnosis and management of depression in adolescents, which were published in November 2007, the first dealing with diagnosis and early management and the second with treatment.
