Bone marrow examination

Bone marrow examination is an easy and inexpensive outpatient examination. It has a central role in examination of diseases of the blood. It is done in the investigation of anaemia, thrombocytopaenia, leucocytosis, leucopaenia and splenomegaly. Sometimes bone marrow examination has a prognostic value. It may also be used to monitor the response to chemotherapy.
