Elevated Serum Creatinine

Causes of elevated serum creatinine can be acute or chronic renal failure or a chronic condition becoming acute. Check if the patient's creatinine has been measured previously and find out his/her medication and possible diseases.

Find out if the patient takes drugs that affect kidney function. In chronic renal failure, the serum creatinine should be measured with an interval of a few months, at least twice a year.
