Entropion

This is the turning inwards of the eyelid. Involutional, spastic or senile entropion always affects the lower lid. Cicatricial entropion may affect either the upper or the lower lid. The eyelashes rub the cornea, causing a feeling of a foreign body, tear-flow, and erythema of the conjunctiva. As the irritation continues, opacities and ulcers develop on the cornea. Entropion should be treated surgically at an early phase.
