A case of rheumatoid arthritis: follow up

Rheumatoid arthritis is the most commonly seen inflammatory rheumatic disease. Left to themselves, a large percentage (40%) of the affected patients are forced to stop working within the 3-4 years after onset of disease. In India, a serious approach to medical rehabilitation for those early stages of disease is not commonly available. The family physician should be responsible for a planned follow-up of the patient and advise regarding exercise and rehab as well.
