Self-monitoring of blood glucose especially in patients on insulin treatment are the most important group with the aim of learning self-adjustment of the insulin dos age. Fatigue and poor treatment compliance may also result from poor glucose control. The patient should be encourage to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Periodic follow ups are targeted at early detection of complications.
